The National Lung Cancer Partnership is dedicated to helping patients live longer and better lives. We know that you are also dedicated to helping fight lung cancer. Together, we can effect change.
Raise lung cancer awareness in your community
- Help spread the word about lung cancer and encourage people to learn the symptoms and talk to their doctor by promoting our public service announcement campaign!
- Distribute National Lung Cancer Partnership brochures describing the need for greater awareness of and funding for lung cancer to community businesses and events. (To request our brochures and other free education materials, fill out an online form, download a form to mail or fax, or call 608.233.7905.)
- Organize a Free to Breathe® run, walk or yogathon
- Organize a bike ride, bake sale, luncheon, barbecue, silent auction, golf outing, or other community event to raise lung cancer awareness and benefit the National Lung Cancer Partnership's programs. Get started by creating an online fundraising page!
Advocate for increased research funding
-
Sign the National Lung Cancer Partnership’s online petition urging Congress to increase funding for lung cancer research or download the text and gather signatures (return completed petitions to our office)
-
Write a letter to your Congressional representatives asking them to help get greater Federal funds for lung cancer research
-
Write letters to your state and regional representatives asking them to appropriate 1% (or more) of annual tobacco settlement revenues to lung cancer research
-
Work with your state and regional representatives to get a lung cancer research “check off” on your state’s income tax forms (where applicable)
