and feeling really good, except for the stiff back and neck (which seems to be helped by a little Tylenol and walking). The week before we left for Florida, I had a tiny episode (numb hand and tingly mouth for about 30-45 seconds) which really scared me, so Jack, being the lovely and understanding doc he is, got me in for my brain MRI a couple days early. Matt and I were on pins and needles, so after the MRI and before we went to talk to Jack, we went to lunch at one of my favorite italian restaurants, and managed to suck down two glasses of wine before my appointment. Not exactly approved protocol, but it definitely calmed me down! Jack peeked his head around the door, came in, calmly listened to me gabble, “What?? Goood, the same, awful??” And quietly said with a smile…”a little better.” And then I burst into tears. (Another good reason not to drink wine before doctor’s appointments!) But still no driving, which I am fine with. I would hate to have something happen, whether it be injuring someone else driving, or god forbid, someone like Lucie in my car.
So. Things are pretty positive. Still scary, but not quite as horrendous as they seemed just a couple weeks ago.
I don’t know how many of you read my old blog at hopingforsomegrace.blogspot.com , but some really good friends of ours sent us up some “persian magic” when we started on this journey — it was really neat. Well, her mother was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, and Jack gave some great recommendations for thoracic oncologists in Orange County, and she was so sweet — she sent more, along with two very beautiful “chesems” which ward off the evil eye — I have been alternating between the two, and I tell you — I have felt stronger since they arrived. Thank you my friends.
