Melissa passed tonight at 9:30pm, Matt held her, she passed peacefully after 2 weeks of fighting – with her husband, mom and dad at her side. They are an unequaled amazing family who have done nothing but set examples of grace and caring.

We will forever love her.

Well, your first mistake was eating Cadbury Fruit and Nut. Yucko. Next time people give you a strange look, I will try to be there to help, but since I can never remember the word I am trying to say and you always have to fill in what I am trying to impart, people will think we are some kind of street comedic duo and that they are on Candid Camera. Then we will take a bow and go have a glass of wine.

Melissa, remember that both “Mischief” and “Revenge is a dish best served cold” are anagrams of the word Hospital. Your 4:30am scare deserves a response. I realize the oncology ward is not the place for large scale pranks involving presently readily availiable Native American/Chinese explosive devices (sigh…) Thus, a few crank calls may suffice. The large number of machines on the ward suggest numerous riffs on the classic, “Is you refrigerator running? Well you better catch it.” Also “Kick me” signs can be readily affixed to the backs of the offending RN/CNA when they reach over you to get your vitals. Also consult with the two juveniles in your life (well, assuming that Lucy hasn’t yet become more mature than Matt:)) Good luck Melissa!!

Wow, Melissa, sounds both scary for you and not much fun. Your 4:30 AM wakeup call is a reminder that the hospital is only a good place to be when you really need to be there.

Hopefully Jack will find the right way to adjust your mix, and I’m really glad to hear the MRI is stable

It seems that the worst place to get rest is in the hospital. I’m sure there is something wrong with the night shift. They always want to draw blood in the middle of the night but I’ve never heard of weighing.
